Point of Rocks tunnel is just down the way from Point of Rocks station, in Point of Rocks proper. The railroad runs along the C&O Canal Park, so access is not a big issue. The tunnel was built in 1868 by the old B&O. The tracks, of course, are not a park, but a very real and dangerous working freight line. Having said that, the location, away from the tracks, is not a bad spot for a small picnic.
Photo oportunities are pretty much limited to train going into tunnel, train coming out of tunnel, train going around tunnel - another reason to bring a lunch.
